Stones Throw Brings Percee P & Baron Zen (+ Bonus Tracks) To HipHopSite Digital
Stones Throw delivers a pair of new releases to HipHopSite Digital, both including exclusive bonus tracks not included on the physical product versions.
Percee P's "Perseverance" is the long-awaited debut from the legendary Bronx freestyle fanatic, who is loved and worshipped as a god of the microphone by artists like Edan, Peanut Butter Wolf, DJ Shadow, Cut Chemist, Egon, and he's never even released an album! Produced entirely by Madlib, Percee makes his debut with Perseverance, featuring guest spots from fans and friends including Chali 2na of Jurassic 5, Aesop Rock, Prince Po of Organized Konfusion, Diamond D, Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks, and Guilty Simpson. HipHopSite Digital edition includes two bonus versions of "The Hand That Leads You", taken from the Fan Club 45.
Baron Zen's "At The Mall (Remixes)" digs up classic recordings of a pre-Stones Throw Peanut Butter Wolf working the drum machine for aspiring punk-hopper Sweet Steve, who does amazingly awful renditions of songs like "When I Hear Music" and "Walking On Sunshine". On this new remixed edition of the album, Madlib, J-Rocc, Arabian Prince, Peanut Butter Wolf, James Pants, Danny Breaks, DJ Romes, and others try their hand at remxing the lost recordings. HipHopSite Digital edition includes 2 bonus tracks, including a cover of "The Right Stuff" by NKOTB. (First mention of NKOTB on HipHopSite in the company's eleven year history!).
Havoc of Mobb Deep Ventures Solo With "The Kush" (+ Megamix)
"I was always ready (to drop a solo-album), but the reason why it took me so long is because the timing wasn't right. I was always working on Mobb Deep material and working with other artists and I used a lot of the material I was going to use for a solo-LP for Mobb Deep records," said Havoc in a statement.
However, that all changes with the release of Havoc's debut, The Kush, on 9-18-07. Havoc's debut has been buzzed about for quite some time and is eagerly anticipated by the group's fan base and fans of the duo's hardcore brand of NY hip-hop. Over the years, Havoc's eerily chilling production has influenced countless producers, set the bar for NYC producers and become the identity for the "Queensbridge sound." That trend continues with The Kush, as the LP is entirely self-produced by Havoc and as he laments he's keeping it grimy "basically, The Kush is dark and gutter, I really wanted to go that direction."
Forsaking littering The Kush with numerous guest-appearances, Havoc choose to keep things entirely in-house and make it an all-family endeavor by design states Havoc "Besides Prodigy, I did not want a bunch of big stars on it, as it would have taken away from the real objective of the LP, which is grimy and down to earth."
After working with virtually every big name artist in the Urban genre and creating some of the most timeless music Hip-Hop fans have had the pleasure to lay ears upon, Havoc did not need to step out of his zone to stay motivated for The Kush, as he states "the thing that keeps me motivated is just my love of music, I just love to create. The Kush represents me as an individual and my growth as a producer and lyricist."
Order The Kush from HipHopSite Digital, and get the exclusive non-album bonus track, Absolute Kush, which features DJ Absolute running through 74 minutes of Mobb Deep madness, including exclusive freestyles and unreleased music you won't find elswhere.
Hezekiah Teams With Bilal, Jaguar Wright, Freeway For "...Riot" (+ Bonus Tracks)
Hezekiah returns with his second album, I Predict A Riot , available now @ HipHopSite Digital (+ 2 Bonus Tracks) on Rawkus / Soul Spazm. The album follows up his 2005 debut, Hurry Up and Wait , and features the new single "Looking Up" (featuring Bilal). He will also be joined by fellow Philly natives Jaguar Wright and Freeway, both of whom guest appear on the album. HipHopSite Digital edition comes packaged with digital booklet PDF, as well as two bonus remixes of the scorching lead single, "Looking Up" (feat. Bilal). Check out the video for "Looking Up" (feat. Bilal) on YouTube or in hi-res - we swear this single sells the entire record.
Rugged Intellect Brings "Renaissance Music" With Two Bonus Tracks
Expertism Music Group announces the release of Rugged Intellect's debut, entitled Renaissance Music: The Introduction. With his efforless flow and breathless delivery, R.I. has been compared to Rakim, The Game and Big Punisher, with plenty of "rewind moments" all over the full-length. Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Rugged's multi-lingualism combined with his multisyllabic, relentless rhyme schemes position him as a unique voice in the hiphop industry. Production is handled by Domingo, Buckwild (DITC), Memo (Molemen), Montreal's Apokalyptik and Executive Producer Adam Sampler, plus guest shots from Ras Kass, Rock and Sean Price of Heltah Skeltah, Kool G. Rap, RA The Rugged Man, AG, Party Arty, and more. Order from HipHopSite Digital, and get two bonus tracks not included on the regular CD release.
Blockhead "Uncle Tony's Coloring Book" (+ 3 Bonus Tracks) Available Now On HipHopSite Digital

Get all 13 regular album cuts, plus 3 additional bonus tracks when you purcahse the full album for download here. MP3 320Kpbs. Blockhead is the go-to-man for anyone in the know on the indie hip-hop scene. With his tough instrumentals, he has helped propel MC talents such as Aesop Rock, Cage, Slug, and Murs. Wanting to stretch out his creativity, he approached Ninja Tune with a killer demo which became his debut album, Music By Cavelight , which included the head-nodding hit, "Insomniac Olympics"
Since then, he has racked up a second Ninja Tune album, Downtown Science , and a slew of production credits - most notably on the new Aesop Rock album, None Shall Pass , for Definitive Jux.
To coincide with that release and the subsequent tour (on which he is opening all 45 dates), Blockhead has decided to self-release Uncle Tony's Coloring Book , an upbeat collection of fun instrumentals with the trademark Blockhead production style, tough beats, and catchy grooves that infect his earlier releases.
